Apa itu SAP?
SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) adalah sebuah produk perangkat lunak ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) yang meng-integrasikan unit-unit bisnis yang berbeda (sales, pengadaan, dan produksi). Setiap transaksi akan di-update dan diproses real time tanpa harus menunggu akhir minggu atau akhir bulan. Sebagai contoh: Jika kita input Sales order, akan mempengaruhi data yang ada di bagian produksi.
SAP merupakan client-server software, artinya masing-masing SAP Function yang ada di SAP system (server) bisa di akses dan di proses oleh masing-masing PC (clients) walaupun masing-masing PC menjalankan SAP Function yang berbeda.
SAP ECC6 atau SAP R/3 4.7 adalah versi yang di-releaseSAP AG (sama seperti versi Windows XP dan Windows Vista atau WARTEG1 dan WARTEG2) dengan versi terbaru adalah ERP Central Component (ECC6).

Module ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa yang diperlukan pada awal kita menggunakan SAP:

• Fitur-fitur Navigasi SAP ECC6 secara menyeluruh
• Log ON/Off
• Produk-Produk dan sejarah SAP
• SAP Screen standard
• SAP tree structure
• Mengubah user password
• etc

Belajar jadi lebih mudah jika kita mempunyai akses ke SAP Server, seperti kita belajar ie: PhotoShop, kalau hanya membaca buku pasti ada efek ngantuk yang berlebihan.

Untuk bisa meng-akses SAP Server dibutuhkan:

2. SAP Server (bisa sewa, akan diberi user name dan password atau beli)

Latar Belakang kelompok belajar ini
Aku masih ingat, pada waktu nyusun thesis tahun 2000 tak ada satu perusahaan pun di Jakarta yang mau memberikan informasi tentang SAP (internship), apalagi memberikan data-data untuk penyusunan thesis.
